An airdrop is a method of distributing digital assets to the public in the cryptocurrency and blockchain world. It involves sending tokens to multiple users' digital wallets, often as a marketing tactic to gain user adoption for a new project or reward early adopters. Airdrops can be distributed based on on-chain activity and eligibility criteria specified by the project. Unlike ICOs, airdrops do not require a token purchase.
